Fee to object to liability order

The request was partially successful.

Dear Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service,

Why are fees required to defend/object to a liability order before a hearing takes place.

Is there a specific act or procedure of the court that requires a fee to be paid to object/defend a civil action?

Yours faithfully,

Alan Byrne

Dear Terri,

This request refers specifically to a objection to Child Maintenance arrears and why there is a charge levied by the court before a hearing has taken place and before facts of the case have been established. Paying to proof information is wrong doesn't scream justice to me.

Yours sincerely,

Alan Byrne
