Fate of land drains used as landfill adjacent to Mayton Lane, Broad Oak, Kent

Kent County Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Kent County Council,

It is my understanding that several land drains were installed in the fields surrounding Mayton Lane in Broad Oak (originally by the historical entity Bridge Blean Rural District Council).

In the 1990s at least one of these drains was allegedly used as a landfill site. Can you please:

i) Provide details to the land drainage schemes operating adjacent to Mayton Lane, Broad Oak, Kent
ii) Provide any details you have as to the alleged landfill of one (possibly more) of these drains, including what filler material was used.
iii) Provide any information you have as to the subsequent impact this alleged drain filling had on flooding in Mayton Lane, Broad Oak.

Yours faithfully,

Cllr Ashley Mills
