It was stated in this report - https://www.bristol.gov.uk/committee/201... - that "To maintain the status quo could result in critical system failures which is it estimated could cost the organisation £4.7M"

Please could you explain how the £4.7M figure has been calculated and what, if any, assumptions have been made to arrive at this figure?

As requested, please find the following breakdown of this cost:-
 
Emergency Control Centre (ECC – Brunel):
Extension of Brunel lease for 1yr: £1.9m
Replacement of Telecare system: £220K
 
Traffic Control Centre (TCC – Wilder):
Rebuild on traffic systems – £700K
 
PSIM (CCTV – John Couzens House)
Replacement of Bosch and Synectics analogue matrix: £1.88m (based on
replacement of legacy technology with server based solution)
 
Assumptions:

 1. System costs are based on estimates through consultation with
incumbent maintenance contractors
 2. Accommodation costs are based on working assumption that Brunel
House will be vacated within one year

 
Note:
This figure does not include the wider economic costs associated with
loss of city-wide critical infrastructure
