Fake callout statistics in Lincolnshire

We're waiting for Daniel Jaines to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Lincolnshire Police,

I am writing to you under the FOI act to please ask you to provide the number of “fake” or “time wasting” incidents your service has attended in Lincolnshire in the past five years (2017-2021 and to the time of this FOI request in 2022).

Please can you break this figure down by year?

Can you also list the reasons given by callers for the callouts even if they turned out to be untrue?

If possible, please can you tells us how many times each reason was given.

I look forward to your response,

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Jaines

Good morning,

Following a clarification request from another service, I wanted to update this FOI with the same response I sent them so that you all have the same response.

The original clarification can be found here: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/f...

It reads as follows:

——

Morning Mark,
I've had a quick glance around and I'm wondering if perhaps "Misuse of the 999 service" is the correct term as well as hoax?
We'd like to look at both those defined as "hoax" calls but also those where someone may be faking an illness such as a stroke for inappropriate reasons - eg to cause family members worry or to get attention.
It may be that they all come under the same umbrella but any help you can give to help us clarify the FOI further is appreciated.
Yours sincerely,
Daniel Jaines

——

I hope that helps,

Kind regards,

Daniel

Dear Lincolnshire Police,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I thought I'd sent an email already, but it does not appear to have sent.

I am writing to request an internal review of Lincolnshire Police's handling of my FOI request 'Fake callout statistics in Lincolnshire'.

As you can see from the below links the Ambulance and Fire Service have both been able to respond with relevant statistics.

EMAS: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/f...

Fire and Rescue: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/f...

I believe it would be in the public interest to have a complete set of blue light figures for a fuller understanding of the strain services are under and would ask that you examine this FOI again to provide figures for a wider picture.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/f...

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Jaines
