Failure to respond to news of child sex exploitation

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, British Broadcasting Corporation should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

For several months I have been providing you with information relating to child sex exploitation.

You have been shown that EVERY organisation and institution with purview has failed to provide information about child sex exploitation, as required by law.

Please provide details of what you have done with this information.

Please provide copies of all related communications by the bbc in response to my emails.

Yours faithfully,

p cialfi

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'Failure to respond to news of child sex exploitation'.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Via whatdotheyknow 6 September 2022
[email address]
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/f...
You have today replied to my request for information dated 8 August 2022 with a refusal, falsely claiming:
“This is not a request for recorded information, and we are not required to create new information to respond to a request, or give a judgement or opinion that is not already recorded.”
However, my request included:
“Please provide details of what you have done with this information.
Please provide copies of all related communications by the bbc in response to my emails.”
It is rational, illogical and perverse, section 77 of the FoIA notwithstanding, to claim that I have not asked for recorded information when my request specifically requested recorded information.
Section 10 of the FoIA requires that you respond promptly, and it does not take 20 working days to reject a request.
You are now being reported directly to the Information Commissioner.
Given that the subject concerns child sex exploitation, your response is alarming.
Please review your response.
The review should be carried out by someone higher in rank in your organisation and not associated in any way with the subject matter.

Dear FOI Enquiries,

2 November 2022

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/f...

Thank you for sending the review upholding the original response of 'no information held'.
Because the BBC email address is generic, there is no possibility of me knowing which BBC departments or personnel handled the information about child sex exploitation.
The time-line is given by the dates of the emails to the BBC and the contents of those emails.
My request of 8 August 2022 was:
“For several months I have been providing you with information relating to child sex
exploitation.
You have been shown that EVERY organisation and institution with purview has failed
to provide information about child sex exploitation, as required by law.
Please provide details of what you have done with this information.
Please provide copies of all related communications by the bbc in response to my
emails.”

The response of the BBC demonstrates, in my opinion, that throughout this whole process where the BBC has been contemporaneously informed of EVERY authority that fails to appropriately answer to questions related to child sex exploitation, the BBC has done absolutely nothing.

This has shocked me.

Whilst I thank you for your review, before this case can be closed, I respectfully ask that you provide the metadata associated with my request.

Yours sincerely,

p cialfi

This email was sent to the Board ( of governors ? ) of the BBC.

Below is the BBC Board acknowledgement of receipt.

Are the barriers that are set up by EVERY authority blocking disclosures relating to child sex exploitation being centrally coordinated ?

Your message: For several months the BBC, via have your say, has been provided with information about child sex exploitation. The BBC responded to my request for information about what the BBC has done with the information that has been provided. The response has been to the effect that the BBC has done absolutely nothing with the information, and could not even confirm whether or not the information has been read. An explanation would be appreciated as to why the BBC appears to have a policy of colluding with the government and its institutions in covering up child sex exploitation. Also, please send details of what will be done with the information.
