Failure to respond to Electoral Registration Forms

The request was successful.

Dear South Hams District Council,

I am writing to ask how many households failed to respond to the Electoral Registration forms over the last two years (2015 & 2016). Out of those who failed to respond, how many were fined and how much was the average fine?

Yours faithfully,

Mr Scott

FOI Requests Auto, South Hams District Council

Dear Mr Scott

Freedom of Information request - Ref: 561477

Thank you for your request for information on 06/10/2017.

We have been going through our Freedom of Information Request records and
were unable to confirm that we had sent a response to your request
received in October last year. I am hopeful that this is not the case and
that you have received the information but if not, please accept my
apologies, the data you sought is now set out below.

Your question:
I am writing to ask how many households failed to respond to the Electoral
Registration forms over the last two years (2015 & 2016). Out of those who
failed to respond, how many were fined and how much was the average fine?.

In 2015 the response rate was approximately 98% leaving 840 forms
outstanding, in 2016 approximately 99% of forms were returned leaving 420
outstanding. For both years no prosecutions were made so no fines were
issued.

My apologies again if the Council failed to respond at the time of your
original request.

Yours sincerely

Anna Gribble
