research applications made by academic staff in the Art, Design and Architecture Faculty. Please include
details as to whether applications have been

2) For the previous academic year 2009-10, please provide details
on the total FTE that was dedicated to research income generation among the Faculty.

3) For the last academic year 2009-10, please provide details on
salary and research activities of all research active staff within the Faculty.

4) For the period covering the last five (5) years, please provide
details on research supervision carried out by staff of the Faculty
and statistics on research students. Please include details of
qualifications gained (PhD, MPhil or other), numbers of suspensions
and number of withdrawals.

have not indicated which six years you would like to receive data for. I
am therefore writing to ask you to confirm which years you are interested
in at your earliest convenience.

Until we receive clarification, the University will consider this
information request to be suspended. The 20 working days to respond will
commence when we receive your clarification.

If we do not hear from you within one month of today we will assume that
you are no longer seeking access to this information and the University
will take no further action.

Further to your recent request for information, The University's response
follows.

1. For the following six years please provide all details of research
applications made by academic staff in the Art, Design and Architecture
faculty. Please include details as to whether applications have been
successful/unsuccessful or are outstanding.

Detailed records are held for the last three academic years only. During
this time, 118 grant applications have been made with a 50% success rate.

2. For the previous academic year 2009-10, please provide details on the
total FTE that was dedicated to research income generation among the
faculty.

No staff within the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture are dedicated
to research income generation.

3. For the last academic year 2009-10, please provide details on salary
and research activities of all research staff within the faculty.

Details of research activities for 2009-10 are not currently available. In
the 2008-9 academic year there were 83.47 research active staff within the
faculty. The total salaries of these staff amounted to £3,650,000. 251
research outputs were generated.

4.For the period covering the last five years, please provide details on
research supervision carried out by staff of the faculty and statistics on
research students. Please include details of qualifications gained,
numbers of suspensions and number of withdrawals.

All research students are allocated a Director of Studies and an 2^nd
supervisor. Many are also allocated a 3^rd supervisor
