Facilities Management - Hards Services/M&E
Dear The Crown Estate,
Could you advise when the current facilities management or hard services (M&E) contracts are due to expire and their estimates annual value?
When would expect these to go to market for competeitive tender?
Yours faithfully,
Craig Wilkinson
Thank you for your email which is receiving our attention. We will get
back to you with a response as soon as we can.
If your email is a request for information, it will be handled under the
Freedom of Information Act and we will aim to provide you with a response
as soon as possible, but at least within the 20 working days specified in
the Act.
Dear Mr Wilkinson
Your information request (1183)
I am writing in response to your email of 30 March 2020 in which you asked
a question about expiry dates for facilities management contracts, annual
value and competitive tender.
I hope it is helpful if I explain that The Crown Estate does not employ
facilities management or M&E companies directly. All of our properties,
including our own headquarters, are managed day to day by our managing
agents, and their contracts include the provision of FM services, which
they often sub-contract. However, we are not party to those contracts and
we do not tender for that work ourselves. As a result, to collate all the
information you require would exceed the appropriate limit of 18 hours and
so the cost exemption at section 12 is engaged. However, there is a list
of our managing agents on our website here:
[1]https://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/en-gb/a... and you may wish
to contact them directly.
I hope that this information is helpful. If you are not satisfied with my
response, you may complain or appeal our decision, which will be
investigated through an Internal Review. If you are not content with the
outcome of the Internal Review, you have the right to refer your complaint
directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Please note that
the Information Commissioner cannot make a decision unless you have first
exhausted our own complaints procedure.
Yours sincerely
Aimee Gasston | Freedom of Information Officer

Our response to COVID-19
We wanted to share a short update on how we are responding to the fast
changing COVID-19 situation in the UK. Across our portfolio, the health
and wellbeing of our employees, customers and visitors to our places
remains our first priority. We continue to monitor the situation closely
so that we can adapt our response in line with evolving Government
guidance.
For our people
We will be focussing on how we can help minimise disruption to our
customers, partners and communities in this difficult situation. Along
with a number of our office occupiers, we have taken the decision to
implement remote working arrangements for the majority of our teams. Our
teams will continue to be contactable by their usual phone and email
details. We are working closely with our staff onsite, including those
employed across our wider supply chain to ensure we can look after our
teams.
For visitors to our places
We are working closely with our customers onsite and our supply chain to
ensure that we take appropriate steps to help safeguard the health and
wellbeing of all those who visit our places. In light of the latest
Government advice, and in view of the developing situation, a number of
our destinations are now partially closed until further notice. At Windsor
Great Park, all car parks and the Savill Building are now closed. We have
also postponed scheduled events for the foreseeable future across our
portfolio. We will continue to monitor the situation, and respond
flexibly, as the circumstances evolve, where the Government’s guidance
changes or, where we feel there is a risk to the health of our customers
and visitors.
