Dear Bracknell Forest Safeguarding Children Board,

I understand the current chapter in your online "Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements Procedures Manual" relating to "Fabricated or Induced Illness", was most recently updated in January 2022. Prior to this I understand it was updated in January 2019.

Can I please have a copy of the procedure as it was prior to the update in January 2019? I understand this will now be archived as the procedure has been updated, and will no longer be in use.

Yours faithfully,

Kathryn Curtis

BFSB, Bracknell Forest Safeguarding Children Board

Kathlyn, thank you for your request in respect to the guidance available to professionals in January 2019.

It is important to state that Bracknell Forest Safeguarding Board is a statutory partnership and therefore not a Public Body subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. However, I can confirm that the period relating to your request precedes the governance arrangements provided by our current local Safeguarding Partners. During the period you refer to, the then Local Safeguarding Children Board's (LSCB) Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements Procedures were jointly commissioned from a company called tri.x (http://www.trixonline.co.uk/) and would have reflected the government guidance, 'Safeguarding children in whom illness is fabricated or induced' that was issued in 2008.

Yours Sincerely

Jonathan Picken
BFSB Business Manager
