Explosives license, Portside, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire

We're waiting for colin watson to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Health and Safety Executive,

You recently made a submission to CW&C highlighting the presense of an explosives store close the the IGas site in Portside, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Your concern was about the explosives being used by IGas exceeding the cumulative limit of this industrial / residential area.

However should this development go ahead, and the well suffers blowout, the presence of an explosives store locally which may be triggered to explode is of great concern to local residents. This is the classic chain of events of major disasters.

Please could you provide details of the license(s) currently granted in the Portside area, and what procedures are in place to stop a well blowout triggering the explosive store.

Yours faithfully,

Colin Watson
