Dear Mr Giblin,
Thank you for your email of 11 April 2016 in which you requested information relating to
business costs and expenses claimed by Charles Walker MP since 2010. Your request has
been handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
You made the following request.
Please make available as a spreadsheet format, all expense claims by Charles Walker MP
since the Conservative party began office in 2010. This information should detail what the
items were for items over the value of £5 and more explicitly what the expense or item
was.
IPSA holds the information that you request.
Details of all claims made by MPs under the
MPs’ Scheme of Business Costs and Expenses
(‘the Scheme’) are published on our publication website every two months, three months
after they were processed by IPSA. This includes information on the expense type, the
amount and whether the claim was paid or not paid. You can search through all claims made
by MP at the following add
ress: http://www.parliamentary-
standards.org.uk/SearchFunction.aspx. Alternatively, you can search for all claims made by a specific MP each financial year. This
information can then be expanded to view the individual claims, and exported to a
spreadsheet. You can find this information at the following address:
http://www.parliamentary-standards.org.uk/AnnualisedData.aspx. The FOIA states that information that is accessible by other means is not subject to release.
Therefore, as the information you have requested is already available on our website, it is
exempt from disclosure under section 21 of the FOIA (information accessible to applicant by
other means).
For reference, the next publication date is 12 May 2016, and will include details of claims
processed by IPSA during December 2015 and January 2016.
