I refer to your email of 6 October requesting information in respect of
expenditure on debt collecting.

 

I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act
2000 (FOIA) that we do hold some information that would be useful in terms
of your request.

 

I have listed your questions below together with our response.

 

(A) The amount the trust spent on external debt collection agencies for

                LRC = Legal Recoveries and Collections Ltd

                CCL = CCI Legal Services Ltd

 

(C) If the contract for the debt collection agency service went out for
public tender; if not, why not

                The contract for External Debt collection is included with
the NHS Shared Business Service Finance service procured by the Trust

 

(D) The number of application made for the service in each year but were
unsuccessful

                N/A

 

(E) The amount the trust paid each agency per year

               

                We are applying an exemption under section 43(2) of the
FOI Act as disclosure would be likely to prejudice the commercial
interests of the Trust. We have disclosed the total amounts (section A)
and the  individual amounts to each company are so small that we are not
disclosing them.

 

(F) The name and job title of official that decides which agency for the
contract was successful

                NHS Shared Business Services determine which External Debt
Recovery Agency is available to be used by its clients.

will be held on a database held by the Trust.   The information provided
