Expected Student Demand

The request was refused by University of Bath.

Dear University of Bath,

Could you please provide your projections for the number of full-time students expected to attend the institution over the next 5 years, or as far forward as you have projections for?

Where possible can this be split by full-time undergraduates and full-time postgraduates per campus.

For example:
2018: X full-time undergraduates and X full-time postgraduates
2019: X full-time undergraduates and X full-time postgraduates:
etc

Yours faithfully,

Steve Blunn

Dear Mr Blunn

It is my belief that your request may be subject to the section 43(2)
exemption under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), relating to
material, the disclosure of which would be prejudicial to the commercial
interests of any party, including in this case the University of Bath.

This is a qualified exemption under the Act, and I am required to carry
out a ‘Public Interest Test’ to determine whether the public interest is
better served by maintaining the exemption (and hence withholding the
information) or by disclosing the information.

The FOIA allows ‘reasonable’ additional time under section 10(3) – up to
20 working days - for public authorities to consider such Public Interest
Tests, and I am writing today to advise you that it will be necessary to
use some further time in this case. I will endeavour to provide you with a
response to your request as soon as possible, but at the latest by Tuesday
23 October.

Regards, John
