Alexander Baxevanis

Dear Transport for London,

In your recent press release, "Mayor's flagship Barclays Cycle Hire scheme heads east in time for the 2012 Games" (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/ne... you mentioned that the Cycle Hire scheme is set to be expanded with an extra 4,200 docking points.

Can you please send me a list of the locations of the additional docking points that TfL is planning to install?

If such list isn't currently available, can you please let me know if there is a target date by which you're hoping to decide on the new locations?

Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr Baxevanis

Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30
November 2010 asking for information about the expansion of the Barclays
Cycle Hire Scheme.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 and I can confirm that TfL does hold the information
you require.

In your recent press release, "Mayor's flagship Barclays Cycle Hire scheme
heads east in time for the 2012 Games" you mentioned that the Cycle Hire
Scheme is set to be expanded with an extra 4,200 docking points. Can you
please send me a list of the locations of the additional docking points
that TfL is planning to install?

Transport for London (TfL) is planning to expand the scheme with an
additional 200 sites in time for the 2012 Olympics. These sites will be
split between a provision of additional sites in the existing area and an
easterly expansion across Tower Hamlets.

TfL is still in the process of identifying future sites, but we should
complete this by spring 2011. Please see the attached list for further
details of the sites currently proposed for use. Please bear in mind that
all proposed sites will be subject to planning permission, Traffic Orders
and, where necessary, leases.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached
information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely

Dear Graham,

Thanks a lot for the helpful reply. I realise this is preliminary information, but it's good to know where we're heading at :)

Is it possible to get the geographical coordinates for each proposed site, as well as the number of planned docking points?

Yours sincerely,

Alexander Baxevanis

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of

and August this year.

occasion, but if you have any further queries with which we can be of
assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you very much for the useful information you have requested so far. Do you think we can make the request for geographical co-ordinates again, as their deadline (August 2011) is now long since passed? However, by searching for e.g. my local cycle station by Island Gardens DLR on Tower Hamlets' website, then I can't find any instances of planning permission.

I obtained a list of coordinates here:
