In accordance with the provisions specified within the above Act I hereby request the following information.
Required Information; - A list of all hereditaments where you have granted EXPANDED RETAIL DISCOUNT for the 2020/21 rate year.
This request relates to business rates but please only refer us to data available for download on your website if it contains the requested EXPANDED RETAIL DISCOUNT data.
• Property Reference Number (also known as Billing Authority Reference Number) of the property on which the charge is made. This is not the Rate Demand or Account Number.
• Current Rateable Value
• Account holder name
• Property address
• The billing address (where different to the property address)

Please provide the information in an electronic, spreadsheet format ideally excel. The Act requires that a response be provided within a period of 20 working days from the date hereof.

This request for information falls within the parameters of the Act but if you require clarification on any of the points above or should you wish to discuss this further then please do not hesitate to contact me. The requested information passes all required public interest tests and other requirements and is not exempt from disclosure.

Whilst it is the Council’s policy to provide information wherever
possible, we need to advise you that there are a number of exemptions
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 which may prevent the release of
some or all of the information you have requested. Some exemptions are
absolute and some only apply where the public interest in maintaining the
exemption outweighs that in disclosing the information. You will be
informed if this is the case and the reason why.

Once the information has been identified the Authority may also ask that a
fee be paid for processing and delivering the information to you. Details
of any fee to be charged will be notified to you as soon as possible.

Under the terms of the legislation, we have an obligation to respond to
your request within 20 working days from the day after your request was
received.  However, please be aware that some services may experience a
reduction in staffing levels due to absence or because resources have been
diverted to support frontline services to respond to the Covid-19

Further to your FOI request which was logged under reference FOI: 07125, we are now in a position to provide a response to your request for information under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Go to our business rates page on our website: https://www.eden.gov.uk/business-and-tra... where you will find the previous year’s worth of business rates spreadsheets which can be filtered to obtain information, including a column that indicates which net local discounts are the Expanded Retail Discount. This spreadsheet is updated regularly and was last done so in August 2020.
