Dear Ministry of Defence,

Thank you very much for providing me with information about Exercise Unmanned Warrior 2016 in response to my recent FOI request (FOI 2017/07800)

I would like to request an internal review of the decision to withhold diclosure of the Lessons Identified report and the associated Exploitation Paper referred to in the papers released. Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I do not consider that the section 26 exemption (defence) applies in this case as Exercise Unmanned Warrior did not apply to operational capabilities, but rather was a test bed for potential future technologies. I do not consider that, on the balance of probabilities, disclosure of information in the two papers would compromise defence interests. Furthermore, I consider it unlikely that all the information in the two papers in their entieity is covered by the section 26 exemption, and information which is not exempt from disclosure should be released.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/e...

Thank you for your assistance and I look forward to hearing from you following the review.

Yours faithfully,

Paulo Peterson

Dear Mr Peterson,

We acknowledge receipt of your email of 2 September 2017 and can confirm
that an internal review will be conducted of your request for information
(reference above).

The Department's target for completing internal reviews is 20 working days
and we therefore aim to complete the review and respond to you by 2
October 2017. While we are working hard to achieve this, in the interests

expect a response, we should advise that the majority are currently taking
between 20 and 40 working days to complete.

The review will involve a full, independent reconsideration of the
handling of the case as well as the final decision.

Regards,

MOD Information Rights Compliance Team
