Examiners guidance and model solutions for part IB, II exams

The request was successful.

Dear University of Cambridge,

I have 2 requests to be made.

1) I request the model solutions and examiners guidance of the exam questions, from years 2001 to 2018, for the now antiquated Analysis II and, Metric and Topology exam questions.

and, Independently of this
2) I request the model solutions and examiners guidance of the exam questions, from years 2001 to 2018 for all part IB and part II exam papers.

Following a previous denied request for the part IA exam solutions(FOI-2024-216), an appeal was made to the commissioner of information(reference i.d IC-304494-S4S4), and the commisioner upheld that sections 43(1) and 43(2) were not sufficient reasons to withhold the information requested. The appeal period ends 28 days from the commisioners decision(made on 30th August), at which point UOC must publish the requested information.

I understand that cambridge may currently be in the process of appeal, hence I have made 2 requests depending on the decision of such an appeal. Namely, if UOC successfully appeals, then i request the information described in 1), else i request the information described in 2).

I reason the information described in 2) must be published under FOIA if UOC fails to appeal. Though not identical to the previously requested information, the precedent has been set by the commissioner that if; the information was previously published under request, and is old enough, then sections 43(1) and 43(2) were insufficient to deny a request.

Hence, using FOI requests: FOI-2024-153 and FOI-2023-1072, i reason the requested information is not with the commercial interests of UOC and must be published.

Finally, I request that such information must be provided either; publically viewable on any of UOC's websites, or held within a google drive folder in direct response to this email, or by any means in which any member of the public can access the information freely, without requiring any affiliation with UOC. Under the FOIA UOC is obligated to provide such information in an accessible manner, hence such requests are reasonable.

Worm Regards,

Mr A. Smith
