Evidence used in developing planning policy

We're waiting for Roger Davies to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Cotswold District Council,

Within the new CDC planning policy documentation there is a new section called EN18 “The Sherborne Park Estate Masterplan. The public are invited to comment on this policy which in principle is “evidence based”. Section 10.20.4 states that the National Trust have provided a prospectus for their plans, and that the CDC supports those aspirations. This then is evidence on which the policy is built. I would like to be provided with a copy of this prospectus, and any other r elevant documentation provided to the CDC in this matter. The residents of the community in Sherborne have not been given sight of this evidence and therefore are unable to comment properly until they can see and consider the evidence provided by the National Trust. It is hoped that the evidence provided includes the National Trust’s aspiration for the number of visitors they hope will be encouraged to visit Sherborne and the consequent analysis of the amenities required such as parking, public conveniences and footfall through the village and local farmland. Without understanding these key issues, cogent views on this bespoke planning policy are not possible, either by CDC or the local community who have some very significant concerns.

Yours faithfully,

Roger Davies
