Evidence to support statement about child sex exploitation
Dear South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, 1 February 2022
Last November, after the disclosure of a report into ongoing child sex exploitation by a political party, you said, along the lines of, in a televised interview:
“…..the old type of sexual abuse, the grooming and the gangs that happened which professor Jay commented on - a lot of that has now gone. Its now CSE has moved online and this is a different type of perpetrator now. These are white males, online, drawing children in, for criminal purposes and sometimes for sexual purposes. We know all that. We have the information on that.”
Please provide the recorded information related solely to child sex exploitation to support your statement.
This will include but not necessarily limited to, since the Jay report:
- the number of prosecutions of non-white males
- the number of prosecutions of white males.
Please include the basic details, i.e. dates of offences, etc.
Please include the documents showing the source of your statement.
Yours faithfully,
p cialfi

Dear South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner,
You have said that you might need to share my details with South Yorkshire Police.
I can not imagine why you should want to do that, as it is simply not necessary.
You do not have permission to share my personal details.
If you need to contact South Yorkshire Police for the information required to correctly comply with this request then you can simply instruct South Yorkshire Police to provide information and there is absolutely no need to give my details to any third party.
In any case, for this request for information, your office must have the information already otherwise the PCC would not have been able to say what he did.
Yours faithfully,
p cialfi

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner's handling of my FOI request 'Evidence to support statement about child sex exploitation'.
Failure to respond within the statutory time frame can be interpreted as a refusal to provide the information required.
Please review the position of the Police and Crime Commissioner not to provide information relating to child sex exploitation.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/e...
Yours faithfully,

Dear Ms Cialfi
Please accept my apologies for not responding to your email in October
last year.
Having noted your request is identical to requests made previously, and
that have been subject to internal review, we are still in the process of
considering our previous responses to you and determining whether anything
has changed, including consulting third parties relevant to the
application of exemptions under the Act. Taking account of annual leave
commitments of those third parties, we hope to be in a position to reply
to you by 25 August 2023.
Your sincerely

There appear to be consistencies of approach with other institutions and authorities when it comes to being open and complying with requests concerning child sex exploitation. Once is a mistake, twice is a coincidence, three times is suspicious, four times beggars belief, unless there is a puppet-master somewhere.
