Evidence for continued wearing of masks and social distancing

Jane Westover made this Freedom of Information request to Public Health England

The request was partially successful.

Dear Public Health England,

Having read that Dr Mary Ramsey, head of immunization at PHE, is saying wearing masks and social distancing may have to continue for the foreseeable future I would appreciate you sharing evidence that

MASKS are beneficial in stopping the spread of the virus. There is much research to be found online that states they have little or no benefit.

SOCIAL DISTANCING - is beneficial in stopping the spread of the virus. It is not natural or healthy for human beings to keep their distance and research is now showing that this can have negative impact on our mental / emotional health and will weaken our immune systems.

Given that in a recent request, PHE were, after several requests only able to give me 4 links to unsubstantiated evidence that "possibly" healthy people "might" be infectious, I find Dr Ramseys comments very disturbing!

I look forward to your response

Jane Westover

Yours faithfully,

Jane Westover
