10. Households approaching as homeless may apply for assistance to store
goods, Section 211 Housing Act 1996.
11. Property is disposed at the expiry of Term of Tenancy/ expiry of TORT
notice, or by the storage company if unpaid/uncollected, or by written
notice is given to the tenant.
12. Expiry of TORT notice / failure to collect belongings.
13. Arun District Council does not record this information therefore the
information you have requested is not held for the purposes of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.
14. • Housing Officers must make an inventory of any property
left behind;
• Issue a TORT notice
• Take an inventory for former tenant
• Make contact with tenant wherever possible to arrange
collections
• Pass to voids officer once notice has expired and belongings
not collected
