Dear Home Office,
Your website currently states that for EUSS applications for pre-settled or settled status:
It usually takes around 5 working days for complete applications to be processed if no further information is required, but it can take up to a month.
Your application is likely to take longer than a month to process if:
we need to request more information from you
you’re applying as a minor and your application is not linked to an adult
you submit a paper application - for example if your application is based on a derivative right to reside in the UK
you have a relevant criminal record
you’re a non-EEA or non-Swiss citizen and are applying based on a relationship you haven’t relied on in a previous application to the Home Office
Could you please advise the current standard processing times for applications made by submitting a paper application, e.g. Surinder Singh Applications.
Thank you for contacting the Home Office Freedom of Information Requests
This is to acknowledge receipt of your email.
Section 8(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires that a request for information must provide enough of their real name to give anyone reading that request a reasonable indication of their identity. Your email does not do this. We are therefore refusing your request because it does not meet the requirements for a request for information under the Act.
Any variation of your title or first name combined with your surname would be sufficient (e.g., Miss or Mrs C Smith).
Please see link below for the Information Commissioner's Guidance on the requirements for an FOI Request and advice on the details you need to provide.
Paragraph 25 of the guidance, applies.
If you provide your name as required, we will be happy to consider your request again. Please resend your request in full.
