Dear Mr Smith,
Your Information Request - IR1-4796520653
Thank you for your email dated 21 February, in which you ask whether the
GMC accepts primary medical qualifications from The school European
University in Tbilisi in Georgia where there is an option of taking the
first three years of the programme online. We have considered your request
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
The European University in Tbilisi Georgia appears on our [1]maybe
acceptable list for all students who began their course of study from 2019
onwards. So all applicants who have completed this type of course would
require a full assessment of their qualification before they could take
PLAB/apply for registration. We would only be able to confirm if this
course of study would be acceptable after completing these individual
assessments.
Please note our [2]criteria states in regards to online learning that a
qualification cannot have been undertaken entirely virtually. The amount
of virtual/online learning undertaken would need to be assessed at the
point an applicant is ready to take PLAB/apply for registration.
Unfortunately we are unable to confirm if a primary medical qualification
would be acceptable until it has been completed.
Kind regards
Lauren Barrowcliffe
