European Global Health Report Cards 25: Innovation, Cambridge

We're waiting for Montgomery Dunn to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear University of Cambridge,

Please see the below Freedom of Information (FOI) request. We would be grateful if you could confirm receipt of this request and if possible provide a timescale for your response with the requested information.

Definitions:

Last 2 reporting years: As defined by the university. Equivalent to the last two years according to the university’s accounting system: this may, for example, be aligned with national tax years, or with the calendar year, or another cycle.

Health Research (Funding): (...) Any research which ultimately aims to improve human health. This includes, but is not limited to:
fundamental discovery science which aims to develop the necessary knowledge base and improve understanding of biological or other factors influencing human health
population-based studies which follow the health of a large number of people, or a ‘cohort’, over a period of time usually for a number of years
interventional studies, where people may be randomised to different interventions, such as those which aim to prove the safety and or efficacy of a ‘product’ like a Clinical Trial of an Investigational Medicinal Product (CTIMP) [Source: UKRI]

This request relates to the University of Cambridge. University structures differ and the relevant data may be held by different data controllers at different universities. If your organisation is unable to answer some of the questions because the data is held by another subsidiary/department of The University, please indicate this for each applicable part. Your office is hereafter referred to as “The University”.

The Freedom of Information request questions start here.
Please provide information as outlined in the questions below. Please prioritise questions at the top of the list. If answers can be provided only for some of the questions, please provide information where it is available. Where information is not available in the precise format described, please provide information in the format in which it is available.

F0. Please define the dates of the last two complete reporting years for The University. This period should be used for all further questions. Where this is not possible for any other question, please provide the altered period and a reason for why it was not possible to standardise by reporting years.
F1. What were The University's top 5 health research funders over the last two reporting years by largest aggregate sum, and how much health research funding did they contribute? Please specify the currency in which the funding was received (EUR/GBP/USD etc). Please provide an Excel spreadsheet detailing the amounts received, splitting the funding by funder (columns) and reporting year (rows). If exact funding amounts are unavailable, kindly just list the names of the funders.

……..

The Freedom of Information request stops here.
We look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Montgomery Dunn

Dear University of Cambridge,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of University of Cambridge's handling of my FOI request 'European Global Health Report Cards 25: Innovation, Cambridge'.

Although I am grateful to The University for providing links to publicly accessible data on research funding, this data is not stratified in the way requested. The FOI asked for data specifically relating to Health Research, which does not seem to be provided in the links supplied in your response. Please could you review whether the data can be stratified in the way requested?

If it cannot be stratified in the way requested, please use UK HESA cost centres 101-107.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/e...

Yours faithfully,
Montgomery Dunn
