Dear Home Office,

You refused my request for information on the EU Settlement Scheme for Zambrano carers.

In your 25 June 2019 response you write, "In order to produce a report relating to EU Settlement applications on the basis of being a family member of British national, we would have to undertake a manual search through individual case records. This is due to such information not being recorded in a reportable format on our case management system."

I then made a request entitled "EU settlement visa applications submitted by or on behalf of a primary carer of a British citizen during the period from 1 January 2019 until 21 June 2019."

In your 4 July 2019 response to my request, you write, "In relation to the information covering May 2019 to date, I can confirm that the Home Office holds the information that you requested. However, after careful consideration we have decided that the information is exempt from disclosure under section 36(2)(c) of the Freedom of Information Act. "

These responses appear to be contradictory. Please explain how both can be correct?

Otherwise, I ask that this request be reopened and investigated.

Yours faithfully,

R.Brown

Dear Home Office,

Dear S John,

You write, "UKVI in their response informed you why they were unable to provide you the information and it was explained that cost applied to the first question and that the subsequent questions formed a part of the first and therefore the manual search that was required applied to the entire request."

Yours faithfully,

R.Brown

Dear Home Office,

As the paper applications are now being sent upon request, I would like to withdraw my question.

Yours faithfully,
