ETHICAL CLEARANCE of CAFCASS principle underlying private law

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service,

In Cafcass principle underlying private law: Adult Behaviour CAFCASS say: “All adult behaviours should be defined and described as BEHAVIOURS not classifications DIAGNOSIS or Jargon. The application of a label such as domestic abuse or alienation is not the goal of the assessment. The goal of the assessment is to understand the impact on the child and an understanding of the typologies of adult behaviour can shine a light on the experience of children.”

In protecting people any research or theory about ‘human behaviour’ should take into account the rights and dignity of participants ; here where CAFCASS refer to all adult behaviour and apply the principles in live assessments of adults.

1. It is of vital public interest that CAFCASS are ‘absolutely transparent’ as Sarah Parsons pledged and CAFCASS need to provide the information to distinguish whether the above principle WAS FORMED:

a. Internally within CAFCASS
or
b. If CAFCASS have borrowed or adapted this from an already existing source that has abided by ethical standards then CAFCASS need to verify this and provide: the ‘source of this principle about adult behaviour to include the FULL methodology, research, evidence base, including all authors, schools of thought, books, journals all documentation and all references to sources that contributed to this principle to include ethical clearance and scientific integrity?

Yours faithfully,
