Dear Banks Robert (SANDWELL AND WEST BIRMINGHAM HOSPITALS NHS TRUST),

My request was not intended to be complicated, so apologies if it has caused confusion.

I am trying to understand the approach for Estates and FM services at your trust - that is what Estates/FM services you deliver 'in house' - ie using NHS Trust emplyed staff - and what services you outsource - ie sub contract to a third party. For any outsourced services, I would then like to understand who you sub contract to and the contract arrangements as detailed in my original reqest.

Where you outsource, its not necessary to provide me with details of every single sub contract, particularly if you have hundreds of small or specialist ones - applying your judgement to provide enough detail to enable me to understand your provision accurately, whilst not over burdening yourselves with providing it would be fine. For example you could group services into logical categories depending on your arrangements and provide informaton for the group as a whole, you could provide information for 'larger' outsourced contracts only (ie those over a threshold of 250,000 pa for example) and just state 'multiple small contracts' where larger contracts are not in place.

I imagine that where you self seliver services it would very simple to identify and describe.

I hope this helps to descrobe more clearly the kind of information I am after, so that it should not be complicated nor costly for you to provide.
