HawkinsJ, Criminal Cases Review Commission

Dear Sir / Madam

Thank you for the Freedom of Information request you sent to the Commission via the whatdotheyknow website. I have responded to your request below.

In your request you ask the Commission for a breakdown of the following:

1. the number of staff who disclosed a disability in the years 2010 - 2015;
2. whether they are lawyers or non-legal staff members;
3. the category of disability disclosed (e.g. mobility, learning, communication);
4. a list of reasonable adjustments made in the years 2010 - 2015.

I provide the answers to each of your questions below:

1. 2009/10 1

2010/11 1

2011/12 0

2012/13 1

2013/14 1

2014/15 2

2015/16 2

2. We are unable to declare whether they are lawyers or non-legal staff due to the possible identification of individuals in view of the small numbers. You may wish to note that the Commission's total number of staff for the relevant years has been no more than about 80 people.

3. As the Commission does not classify disability in the categories you quote, we are unable to provide the information.

4. As well as for disabled people, the Commission also makes reasonable adjustment for anyone who requires such adjustments to help them carry out their day to day tasks. Such adjustments include:

* Change to working patterns
* Special desk equipment such as keyboards, lighting, mouse, monitors and chairs.
* Height adjustable desks, special lighting
* Working from home arrangements
* Readers
* Some reasonable adjustments to work loads
* Return to work plans following a long period of sickness.

I hope that you will find the information provided of some use.

Kind regards

Justin Hawkins
