Equality Act & Public Sector Duty S149

Ceredigion County Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Ceredigion Council,

Has permission been granted by the Director of H.P.& W for the occupiers of 'Morrisons' the greengrocers in Chalybeate St. Aberystwyth to have maintained a dangerous obstruction on the footway for at least the previous 10 years knowing that it is contrary to the minimum width rule in C.C.C own guide lines;
(Managing Footway Obstructions)?

If this dangerous obstruction is there with C.C.C approval a copy of the permission form/forms please.

Yours faithfully,

S. M Golden

Ceredigion HPW, Ceredigion County Council

Dear S M Golden

Freedom of Information Request - Equality Act & Public Sector Duty S149

Further to your request dated 15 August 2013 I can inform you that the Council has not granted permission for any non-highway related articles currently occupying footways in Aberystwyth. As stated previously, the Council will review later this year how it deals with objects currently being placed on footways within the various towns by local businesses and traders as it is essential that there is a consistent approach throughout the County. Following that review, the Council will address any specific issue at any location throughout the county.

If you have any complaints regarding this reply, please write to Mr Russell Hughes-Pickering, Head of Performance and Improvement, Ceredigion County Council, Penmorfa, Aberaeron, Ceredigion SA46 OPA or by email to [Ceredigion County Council request email].  If this fails to resolve the matter to your satisfaction, you have the right to apply to the Information Commissioner.

Yours sincerely

Keith Morgan
