Dear Mr Durst

Our Ref:         FOI-2080-1516

Thank you for your e-mail received on 2 February 2016 asking for
information about the EOS Control Room.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can
confirm we hold some of the information you require.

There are plans to establish an Enforcement and On-Street Operations
Directorate (EOS) control centre function within the existing Surface
control centre as part of a wider programme of work known as EOS Futures.
This will be headed up by a Senior Command, Control and Deployment
Manager, Nick Bignall who started on the 15 February 2016 and under the
oversight of the Head of EOS Operations and the EOS Director. Detailed
plans as to the design and recruitment of staff positions are currently
being worked on.

The purpose of the EOS control centre will be to oversee the daily
deployments of the EOS frontline Operations officers (Revenue Protection
Inspectors, Taxi and Private Hire Compliance Officers and Roads and
Transport Enforcement Officers), liaise with the Metropolitan Police
Service control function on a day to day basis and work with the existing
bus and traffic control rooms to deliver a reliable and secure surface
transport network. Pay bandings for these control centre positions have
not yet been evaluated. It is envisaged that there will be a number of
supervisory roles and operator roles typical of a control centre
environment and capable of operating according to business needs.

The current plan is to finalise job descriptions and begin recruitment in
line with TfL HR policies and procedures by the middle of 2016.

If this is not the information you are looking for please feel free to
contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
