Dear council team

I am looking for information on your environmental health services.

1. Could you please provide figures on the number of environmental health officers employed by the council over the last five financial years starting from April 2017/18 and including 18/19, 19/20, 20/21, 21/22. Please provide total number accross the environmental health services you offer.

2. I am also looking for numbers - again for the last five financial years - of the number of pest control workers (or equivent job title in your LA). Could you also please provide the number of cases dealt with by pest control workers over the last five financial years?

3. I am also looking for the number of officers charged with commercial waste enforcement over the last five years as well as the number of cases in the same time period.

I have to advise that the information you requested is information not
held by the Council and as such I must refuse your request in terms of
Regulation 10(4)(a) of the EIRs.

However, in line with the duty placed on the Council in terms of
Regulation 9 of the EIR’s, I can advise the wardens detailed in Q2 above
also carry out commercial waste enforcement as part of their role.
However, this does not form a large part of their duties and we do not
record the number of cases.

 

If you are dissatisfied with the way in which your request for information
has been dealt with you are entitled to request a review by writing to the
Executive Director Customer Services, Argyll and Bute Council, Kilmory,
Lochgilphead, Argyll PA31 8RT, or by email to [1][Argyll and Bute Council request email].
