Dear Mrs Burns

We thank you for your request for information and note that this was made
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). However, United Utilities
is not subject to FOIA but your request does fall under the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004 (EIR) and has therefore been considered under
those regulations.

You have requested the following information:

Environmental groundwork assessments undertaken by United Utilities (UU)
pre-construction Anti-Flood Tank & Associated Works and Ground structure
analysis/evaluation reports and associated risk assessments/impact on
properties located on Blundells as part environmental groundwork
construction.

We attach the following information that we hold.

ENT801 Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Desk Study Report HFRR – Verulum
Road, Southport Dec 2019 (Fig 2.1 has been removed as this material is out
of date) with Appendix B – British Geological Survey Exploratory Hole Logs
Smithers Purslow - Pre works inspection schedule dated 1 December 2020
Smithers Purslow – Interim Work Inspection dated 15 February 2021

Regulation 12(3) provides that we are unable to disclose any survey reports
relating to other properties, where the personal data is someone other than
the applicant.

Information held by United Utilities, provided by another person will not be
disclosed as it falls under the exemption 12 (5)(f), in that it was provided
in confidence and would adversely affect the interests of the person who
provided the information where it was not supplied in circumstances such
that a public authority is entitled to disclose it and have not consented to
its disclosure. We have balanced the public interest arguments for
disclosing this information against those for upholding the exemption in
reaching this decision.

We are obliged to inform you that should you consider we have not adequately
complied with our obligations under EIR, you have the right to ask us to
carry out an internal review of our response. This can be done by writing to
David Hannon Head of Legal, United Utilities, Legal Department, Grasmere
House First Floor, Lingley Mere Business Park, Lingley Green Avenue, Great
Sankey, Warrington, WA5 3LP. Alternatively, you may find it easier to e-mail
us directly on [United Utilities request email] , quoting the above reference, and
your review request will be forwarded on to Mr Hannon.

Any request for an internal review should explain why you wish a review to
be carried out, and should be made within 40 working days of receipt of this
letter, and we will reply within 40 working days of receipt. If you are not
satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to make a
formal complaint to the Information Commissioner.

Yours sincerely
