I am writing regarding your request for information dated 13^th July 2017
. Please accept my apologies for the delay. You have requested the
following:

 

1. How many fixed penalty notices for litter, dog fouling, fly tipping and
commercial waste have Council staff or those it subcontracts to issue
since 2012 (please provide information by financial year) in total and
also split between council staff and contractor staff

 

Number of Fixed Penalty notices issued:

2012-2014  None

2014-2015 111

2015-2016  6467

2016-2017  4242

 

Response from Hounslow Highways:

 

Hounslow Highways is the service provider to the London Borough of
Hounslow and has delegated authority to serve fixed penalty notices for
littering, fly tipping and commercial waste offences and not for dog
fouling offences.

 

We have provided the requested information in the attached spreadsheet for
2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and from January to June 2017.

 

 

 

2. How many staff does the Council directly employ to carry out this
activity?

We don't directly employ anybody specifically to target these offences but
we have 26 staff who carry out other functions who have the ability to
serve such notices either if they witness an offence or if they are
provided with sufficient evidence to enforce.

 

 

3. How many staff are on the street by your contractor on any given day?

Typically 10 to 11.

 

4. How many tickets have gone unpaid?

1173

Please find attached a spreadsheet with the requested information for
Hounslow Highways

 

5. How many of those have been taken to court for prosecution?

855

 

 

No prosecutions have been taken to court from evidence provided by
Hounslow Highways at this point in time.
