Environmental Enforcement Officers

Janine Ineson made this Freedom of Information request to Liverpool City Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Liverpool City Council,

You have a number of Environmental Enforcement Officers some of which were previously employed as Street Crime Wardens. I should be grateful if you would answer the following questions:

(1) How many Environmental Enforcement Officers do you employ?

(2) What training have the Officers received?

(3) Please tell me what salary and grade these officers are on.

(4) What qualifications are required in order to be an Environmental Enforcement Officer?

(5) Does the above officer have to possess a degree?

(6) What professional qualifications are required for this role?

(7) One assumes the above officers may have reason to attend court in order to give evidence at some time. Do the above officers receive Professional Witness training? If so, who delivers that training?

(8) Please tell me what salary / grade, the supervisors / team leaders are on.

(9) Do the above possess any professional qualifications relating to their positions?

(10) If an Environmental Enforcement Officer were to stop someone for dropping litter, then is that individual then obliged to give his / her personal details or could that individual simply refuse and walk away?

(11) Do the above officers have to caution an individual before asking for that persons name and address?

(12) Between January 2010 and June 2010, please tell me the total amount paid out in overtime for the above officers.

Yours faithfully,

Janine Ineson
