Env Info Request: How much Somerset farmland has been taken out of food production for Phosphate mitigation credits?

Dave Orr made this Freedom of Information request to Somerset Council Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

The request was successful.

Dear Somerset Council,

Environmental Information Request:

Q1. How much Somerset farmland (in hectares and as a percentage of total Somerset farmland) has been taken out of food production for Phosphate mitigation credits?

Q2. Does Somerset Council have a policy to protect food security and productive farmland across Somerset, where good quality and higher grade farmland is not allowed to be set aside from food production, by being used for Phosphate mitigation (as part of its current nutrient neutrality policy)?

Yours faithfully,

Dave Orr
