Enterprise Allowance/ New Enterprise Allowance

The request was refused by Department for Work and Pensions.

James Spencer-Gray

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

I quote form your own dedicated web site the following : -

"Claimant Group/Eligibility: New Business Starts

1.14 New Enterprise Allowance is available to the following claimants aged 18 and over and their dependent partners (*where indicated) aged 18 and over and are legally resident in the UK and have the right to take up paid employment/self-employment in the UK:

 Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) (*including dependent partners)  Employment & Support Allowance (ESA) (*including dependent partners)  Income Support - The only Income Support claimants who are eligible are lone parents claiming Income Support (IS) on the grounds of being a lone parent and people claiming as sick. This includes lone foster parents and single people with a child placed with them prior to adoption. Note that claimants in receipt of Carer’s Allowance are not eligible for NEA.  Some Universal Credit claimants. Eligible Universal Credit claimants will primarily fall within the following conditionality groups.

Therefore based on this public domain declaration can you please CONFIRM that an individual registered as unemployed BUT only in receipt of National Insurance credits WOULD NOT qualify for any assistance under this scheme?

Yours faithfully,

James Spencer-Gray

rejection, the only response the DWP appear to know and oddly they will not even acknowledge the existance of their own official policy documentation
