FOI, Health and Care Professions Council

Our Ref. FR05886

Dear Ms Wray

Thank you for your email of 23 November 2018, in which you ask for
information regarding funding for HCPC Christmas parties.

Your request has been handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(FOIA).

1) Did HCPC hold a Christmas Party in 2017?

Yes

2) What was the cost of this party?

£872.40

3) From where the money came - i.e. government grant, loan, registrant's
fees?

The HCPC is an independent self-financing organisation. All our
operational financial costs are funded by fees from registrants.
Expenditure for the employee Christmas lunch is allocated within the
Communications budget.

4) Who authorised the payment/budget?

Senior Management Team

3) How much of this bill represented alcohol and if so, the cost of wine
and champagne per bottle and number purchased?

No alcohol was budgeted for or purchased for the Christmas gathering.

4) How many hours of paid time it took to arrange?

About 7 hours

5) The venue location?

The HCPC offices

6) Whether none HCPC members were paid for - partners, spouses, employees
of law firms and service providers? The Christmas gathering was for HCPC
employees only.

7) Total number of attendees?

Total number not recorded.

8) Role/responsibilities of attendees?

All employees were invited.

9) Is a Christmas Party planned for 2018?

We will hold a small end-of-year gathering for our employees in our
offices, with soft drinks and light refreshments. The total cost will be
£248.14. In addition, each department has a separate budget of £25 per
employee. Because not all employees participate, the total budget for the
whole of the HCPC will be approximately £5,000.00.
