Dear Greg Collins
Thank you for submitting a request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. Please find the response below. This response
covers the hospitals and services managed by the Royal Free London NHS
Foundation Trust, namely the Royal Free Hospital, Barnet Hospital and
Chase Farm Hospital and associated group services.
The response
To know:
The trust is not able to determine suspected IBD as each patient’s
referral letters and notes would have to be manually checked in order to
collate this information. Instead the trust can answer the number of
patients with IBD appointments. However, the service has specified these
patients are normally diagnosed rather than suspected. The below data is
based on the trust’s latest submitted data for December 2022.
a. the number of patients on the endoscopy waiting list with suspected
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
168
b. the number of patients with suspected Inflammatory Bowel Disease who
are waiting more that 6 weeks for endoscopy.
55
c. the percentage of patients on the endoscopy waiting list with
suspected Inflammatory Bowel Disease
7.92%
d. the percentage of patients with suspected Inflammatory Bowel Disease
who are waiting more that 6 weeks for endoscopy.
32.7%
