EMT/Urgent Care Service Transport Framework

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust,

Can you please inform me what risk assessment process a double EMT Crew and an Urgent Care Crew would complete before transporting the patient. E.g. do they compare the observations to a NEWS 2 chart and have a scoring system that they use i.e. if a patient scores above 4 they will not transport and it would be escalated to a Paramedic Crew?

In summary I would like to know the process an EMT crew and an Urgent Care Crew would use to determine if the patient was safe to transport within their skill set.

Yours faithfully,

William Smith
