Dear Mr Ruddy

Thank you for your information request of 20^th November 2015.  Aberdeen
City Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested.

Can you advise me of the number of empty homes (ie those that have been
left unoccupied for over 12 months) within the Council area.

Please split this into houses owned by the council and by private
individuals / organisations.

Clarification:  I am looking for a figure for the number of council houses
that have been empty for 12 months or more, and the number of private
houses which have been empty for 12 months or more.

As at 25^th November 2015 Aberdeen City Council has 79 properties that
have been empty for more than 12 months, however of those only 35 are
available to be occupied.  The remainder (44) are unavailable for
occupation due to awaiting demolition for the Haudagain project or they
require some sort of major works to the property.

Information is not held by ACC regarding houses owned by private
individuals/organisations.

ACC is unable to provide you with information on houses owned by private
individuals/organisations as it is not held by ACC.  In order to comply
with its obligations under the terms of Section 17 of the FOISA, ACC
hereby gives notice that this information is not held by it.

We hope this helps with your request.

Yours sincerely,

Jacqueline Gillanders

Information Compliance Officer
