Mr Conway

I refer to email request of 6th June 2014 for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding empty commercial properties in this borough.

Please see the attached two Excel files for the information required.

Named individuals have not been included in the lists, e.g. sole traders and partnerships. I can confirm that Runnymede Borough Council has that information but I am withholding those names as I consider that the exemption(s) under Section(s) 40 (2) of the FOI Act 2000 applies. Section 40 states personal data of any other person (third party data) is exempt under section 40 (2) if disclosure would breach one of the data protection principles.

I hope that this information is sufficient for your purposes. The Council’s complaints procedure is on the website,

If you are not satisfied with this response you may ask for an internal review. If subsequently you are not satisfied with the Council’s decision you may apply to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the Council.
