Empty 3 bedroom properties in Fife

The request was successful.

Dear Fife Council,

i am currently on the waiting list for a council house as I have been given my notice to quit and currently only got 5weeks until I have to leave with a 10year old and new born baby.
As you can imagine this is very stressful, especially with a new baby and the emotional state this makes.
I have been going around my areas looking myself for empty 3 bedroom properties, however, the ones I find are either not council or aren't actually empty or already allocated.
Please can you advise me on all empty 3 bedrooms in Fife.

Yours faithfully,
Cheryl.

Dear Ms Ingram,

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

I refer to your information request dated and received 28^th September
2016, our reference: 14873.

We can advise that all empty properties listed in the spreadsheet sent to
you on 21^st September for your previous request, ref 14773, were
allocated on that date, or pending demolishment.

There are currently no unallocated empty 3 bedroom properties in Fife.

Most Council properties are allocated within five days of the previous
tenant handing in their notice, so by the time a property is seen by an
applicant to be empty, it is already likely to be relet. Fife Council’s
Allocations Policy determines who is offered empty properties and is
attached for information.

An applicant’s points total is one factor, but to understand the best
opportunity of getting an offer we advise applicants to arrange an
Enhanced Housing Options Interview with a Housing Caseworker to ensure all
information being held on their Fife Housing Register application is
correct. This ensures the applicant’s circumstances have been assessed
correctly so that they will be offered suitable accommodation in their
area of choice as and when it becomes available and in accordance with
Council policy.

To arrange an Enhanced Housing Options Interview or for general housing
advice, please contact Fife Council on the Housing Information and Advice
line, telephone number: 03451 55 00 33, or;

Visit any Fife Council Customer Service Centre, details can be found
online at the Council’s website Fife Direct. Direct Link:

I trust this meets your requirements.

If you are not satisfied with the way we have handled your request, you
have the right to request a review of the decision. Please write to: Head

received your enquiry or 40 working days from when you receive this

the right to apply to the Scottish Information Commissioner for a
decision.

Fife Council will consider and seek to resolve any request to the Head of
