Dear Attorney General's Office,

I am writing to make a request for all the information to which I am entitled under Freedom of Information Act 2000. My requests are outlined below as specifically as possible to help you retrieve the information required. However, if any of the below is unclear, I would appreciate if you could contact me as I understand that under the act, you are required to assist requesters.

Please could you provide the following information:

A broken down list of the employee count for all agencies and public bodies associated with and working alongside your organisation.

If possible, please could you present the information via a Microsoft Word or Excel document, sent to me via email. I understand that under the act, I should be entitled to a response within 20 days and therefore I would appreciate if you could confirm receipt of my request.

Yours faithfully,

Deborah Manley

Correspondence (AGO), Attorney General's Office

Dear Ms Manley,

The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) is seeking clarification to your
request which was received on 7th January.

Please could you clarify the intended scope of the phrase "all agencies
and public bodies associated with and working alongside your organisation"
contained within your request. To a greater or lesser extent, different
government departments and agencies regularly communicate with each other
on matters that touch upon their respective areas of responsibility,
therefore at present we consider your request to be phrased too broadly
and imprecisely for us to interpret it in a way that ensures we have
grasped the crux of your request.

Should it assist you in clarifying your request, I can confirm that the
Attorney General and Solicitor General (the Law Officers) superintend a
number of non-Ministerial government departments, collectively referred to
as the “Law Officers’ Departments”. Please let me know if you would like
us to interpret your request as requesting information regarding these
departments.

Please be aware that the 20 day deadline for response will start from the
date on which your clarification is received. If we do not receive
clarification on this point within the next two months your request will
be considered closed.

Yours sincerely,

FOI Officer
