EMIS and audit trails

The request was successful.

Dear Severn Valley Medical Practice,

You used to use EMIS LV5 and then went to EMIS Web for management of patient information.

1. Did you have a back up tape when you moved from the earlier system to EMIS Web ?

2. Did the Practice subscribe to the TVS service by which the tape data could be interrogated and a set of final extract DVD's produced ?

The information I have is that The LV data on the back up tapes and DVDs are in a raw data format and they would need to be uploaded onto the LV database. Egton Support would look to restore the LV clinical data from either the Final Data Extract DVD’s or a dedicated backup tape, both methods are fully encrypted. After the data restore, Egton would then restore access to the LV system by attaching the clinical database to the MSM application. EMIS Support would then give a practice a log on to the LV data to enable them to retrieve
any audit information they require.

3. Have you had any dealings with Egton support for this purpose and please give detail.

If there is any documented evidence of any of the above such as subscribing to the described service or accessing it or any evidence of discussions about such data transfer and access to EMIS LV5 audit trail data then please provide it, to include letters/emails etc

Thank you

Dear Severn Valley Medical Practice,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Severn Valley Medical Practice's handling of my FOI request 'EMIS and audit trails'.

I am grateful for the information provided but I believe an item is missing from the enclosed requested communications between yourselves and EMIS

Within one of the emails provided as attachment to your F of I reponse the practice states that the Practice Manager had been advised in email by EMIS that the data could not be provided

I cannot see that email within the thread that you have supplied

Can you review and remedy please. Alternatively if you feel the scope of my request was insufficiently precise in that regard I can make a fresh request for that item.

Thank you

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/e...
