Dear Mr Chamberlain,

TfL Ref: FOI-1286-1314

Thank you for your email received by us on 21 October 2013 asking for
information about the Emirates Air Line.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can
confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked for:

a)    The numbers of passengers using the Emirates Air Line each day, in
each direction, between Sunday 13 October and Saturday 19 October 2013.

DATE Total South North
13.10.13 3125 1893 1232
14.10.13 2114 1263 851
15.10.13 3167 1837 1330
16.10.13 1868 1146 722

18.13.10 2968 1913 1055
19.10.13 6266 3739 2527

Passenger numbers fluctuate due to a wide range of factors from week to
week, however overall numbers this year are in line with TfL’s forecasts.

Since opening in June 2012 the Emirates Air Line has carried nearly three
million people and as a vital new crossing in east London it continues to
play a key role in attracting investment to this strategically important
part of the capital.

b)   A breakdown of passenger numbers per hour of operation during that
week.

Dear Ms Nichols,

Thank you again for your figures on the usage of the Emirates Air
Line.

I'd be grateful, however, if you could check the hourly figures in
point b, which do not add up to the daily totals as given. For
example, the daily total for Saturday 20 October adds up to 3,073,
not 6,266.

Could you also give an assurance that the other answers are
correct?

Yours sincerely,

Darryl Chamberlain
