Emergency fire gates
Dear Epping Forest District Council,
Please could you tell me how many Emergency fire gates there are in the council area and their location.
An example of these gates is the one on Blacksmiths Lane at the junction of Rainham Road and Nelson Road in South Hornchurch.
Could you also tell me if these gates use 'Fire Brigade padlocks'? If not, are keys to these padlocks carried by the fire service or how does this system work (are they combination padlocks and the codes held by Fire service control?)
Yours faithfully,
D. Schofield

Dear Lynne,
Thank you for your email. I understand that these gates are the responsibility of the council and Highways department that looks after the roads, rather than the fire service.
I accept there maybe none in the Epping Forest District council area.
Yours faithfully,
D. Schofield
