Emergency Duty Team Foster Carers weekly rates / models

The request was successful.

Dear Achieving for Children,

I have been directed to you by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead as their partner organisation, helping to provide children and adult social care on behalf of the council.

I would like some information around Emergency Duty Team foster carers in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead authority. Please could you offer any details regarding the following questions:

1. What is the model of delivery / how do you ensure cover?
2. How do you incentivise foster carers to take teenagers?
3. The standard weekly rate (excluding child allowance)?

Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Bethany Reeder

AfC Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests, Achieving for Children

Dear Ms Reeder,
Your Freedom of Information request has now been considered.
Your Request
I would like some information around Emergency Duty Team foster carers in
the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead authority. Please could you
offer any details regarding the following questions:

1.      What is the model of delivery / how do you ensure cover?
2.      How do you incentivise foster carers to take teenagers?
3.      The standard weekly rate (excluding child allowance)?
Response
1.  The Emergency Duty Service (EDT) is run across several Councils and
not just held by Windsor & Maidenhead. This is a separate service to
Fostering, however, we offer details of available carers who are willing
to take emergency placements to be on the weekly list that is held
centrally by the EDT.
2. We support carers in a range of ways to ensure they feel comfortable
and capable of taking all of our children needing placements. Where
needed, we offer additional training and support services as well as
respite package per placement.

3. The standard rate for carers who are on the emergency placement list is
£50. The weekly rate for foster carers who have a placement, is divided
into 3 levels which is dependent on skill level and years of experience.
Level 1: £195, Level 2: £260, Level 3: £290.
Yours sincerely,
