I refer to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and to your email to this
service dated 24 June 2021.
 
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, we are able to grant
access to the records requested and accordingly they are as follows:
 
Please find attached the North East Region’s application form and
supporting letter for the Emergency Active Travel Fund which were sent to
the Department for Transport on the 5th of June 2020. The application
consisted of 70 “pop up” schemes across the region with an estimated
delivery cost of £3.172million. The application contained a range of
schemes with aims including: increasing capacity for walking and cycling,
enabling mode shift to walking and improving safety and perceptions of
safety by segregating cyclists and road traffic where possible.
