Emergency Accomodation Providers
Dear Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council,
I am in the process of establishing an emergency accommodation provision in Calderdale. I will be grateful for information regarding the following;
1) How do you currently accommodate homeless people, who the Council accept as a duty of care/homeless?
2) How do you currently accommodate homeless people (in emergency situations) who the Council accept as a duty of care/homeless?
3) Can you explain your commissioning process for new private emergency accommodation providers?
4) Do private organisations need to go through the tendering process or Council framework to
accommodate/accept referrals for homeless people, who the council have a duty of care for/accept homeless? If so, please provide information regarding the website to access this. If not, what is the process that private providers will need to follow?
5) How many registered private emergency accommodation providers do the Council currently use or commission, to accommodate homeless people referred by the Council and accepted as a duty of care?
6) Do you operate an approved providers list of emergency accommodation providers? If so, how do I register? If not, what is the process?
7) What is the average weekly cost of placing someone into emergency accommodation (paid by the Council) and how is this paid to private accommodation providers I.e. time, amount, process?
8) How many people (on average) attend the Council as homeless (monthly or annually)? Of these, how many are accepted with a duty of care and put forward for emergency accommodation (monthly or annually)?
9) Does the Council currently have a need for new emergency accommodation providers?
10) Please can you provide a contact for the person leading on commissioning new emergency accommodation providers? If not, please can you provide a clear process for new emergency accommodation providers to register and provide emergency accommodation?
Many thanks
Yours faithfully,
Christian Douglas
