Dear Glasgow Caledonian University,
Please provide the sender, recipient, subject and body of all emails in the following mailboxes (all folders) at the time of this request:
Dear Mr McLean
Glasgow Caledonian University has received your request for information (below). The University is currently processing this and will get back to you as soon as possible.
Freedom of Information Enquiries
Dear Mr McLean
I refer to your request for information received by the University on the 18th April 2013 (email below).
The University considers that it holds the information that you have requested on behalf of Glasgow Caledonian University Students Association. Also the individuals who's email accounts have been listed are not employed by the University. As such the University considers that it does not hold this information for the purposes of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) and is therefore exempt from disclosure [FOISA pararaph (2)(a)(i) as the information is held on behalf of another person (Glasgow Caledonian University Students Association)]
Please also note that Glasgow Caledonian University Students Association is a separate legal entity from the University and is not subject to FOISA.
Freedom of Information
Dear Freedom of Information Enquiries,
Please provide information which shows that you hold it on their behalf and how this arrangement works. For instance a memorandum of understanding or contract for it services.
Dear Mr McEwan
I can confirm that the University does not hold any recorded information which outlines this arrangement.
The Students Association uses the Glasgow Caledonian University e-mail system as a matter of convenience. There is no Memorandum of Agreement or contract for the use of the e-mail system. Therefore the University is relying on the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 Section 17 (1) (b) Information not held.
The staff in the Students Association are not employees of the University and the Students Association is a separate entity from the University. The University has no control over the e-mails sent by the Students Association and does not routinely monitor them.
